School Ties at Reynolds Elementary

We started our club meeting today with a geography lesson. We found Africa, then Kenya, and then Nairobi on the globe. We talked about the number of counties in Africa and the many languages spoken there. We tried out a bit of Swahili “Hujambo!”
We also discussed humanitarian work, what it is and why it is important.
We looked at photos of the school and the children we are getting to know in Kenya. We talked about the challenges these children face in gaining an education. When asked if they wanted to help a loud “Yes!!” was cheered!
We are excited to learn more and prepare for the school carnival on April 26th, where we will have information about our project and bracelets ready to give for donations!
